FAQ

Questions we get asked.

If the answer you need is not here, calling is faster than reading — we would rather talk through the specifics of your move.

Secure Storage

How do you keep containers secure?

Containers are held in our own gated yard in Marysville, Washington, which has capacity for more than 20 containers. Because it is our facility rather than rented space, we control who has access to it and we know what is on the ground at any given time.

Why would I store a container instead of taking delivery?

Usually because the box has to leave the terminal before your dock is ready for it. Terminals charge demurrage once free time runs out, and those charges climb quickly. Pulling the container into our yard stops that clock and lets you take delivery when a door is actually free.

How long can a container stay in the yard?

That depends on what else is on the ground at the time, so it is worth asking when you book rather than assuming. Tell us roughly how long you expect to need and we will confirm whether we can hold it that long.

Drayage & Shipping

What is container drayage?

Drayage is the short-distance leg that connects the long ones — moving a container from a marine terminal or rail ramp to a warehouse, distribution center or yard nearby. It is a small part of the total distance a container travels and a disproportionate share of where delays come from.

Do you use pool chassis?

No. We run 15 chassis of our own. That matters on the days a pool is short: our equipment is already available, so a pull does not get pushed to tomorrow and you do not get billed for a chassis split.

Can you do live unload as well as drop-and-hook?

Yes, both. Which one makes sense usually comes down to how long your unload takes and whether you have the door time. If you are not sure, describe the site and we will tell you which we would recommend.

What do you need from me to quote a move?

Container size, which terminal or ramp it is at, the last free day, and the delivery address with any appointment window. That is enough for a rate in most cases.

Service Coverage

What areas do you serve?

We are based in Marysville and work the Puget Sound region closely — Everett, Arlington, Lake Stevens, Tulalip and down the I-5 corridor to Seattle and Tacoma, including the Port of Seattle, the Port of Tacoma and the rail ramps. For long-haul freight we run across the continental United States.

Do you only move containers?

No. Container drayage is a large part of the work because of where we are, but we also haul general freight locally, regionally and long-haul on our own trucks.

Are you a broker?

No. We are an asset-based carrier — we own the trucks and the chassis, and the drivers are ours. When you book with us, we are the ones doing the work rather than re-selling it to somebody else.

Working With Us

How do I get a rate?

Call +1 (206) 945-0544 or send the details to Info@majestictrucking.net. Calling is usually faster, particularly if the container is already on a clock.

How quickly can you pick up?

It depends on terminal appointments and what is already scheduled that day, so we will give you a real answer when you call rather than a number on a website. If a last free day is close, say so up front and we will tell you immediately whether we can make it.

Still got a question?

Call and ask. If we cannot help, we will usually know who can.
